The idea that users can get back files that were deleted is relatively new.
It’s not something that has always been possible and even just a few years ago, hiring an expert would be the only way to get those files back.
But as technology has advanced, data recovery software has become more common and among the crowd is AnyRecover.
There’s a lot to say about this recovery solution so we’re going to get ahead and jump into our AnyRecover review straight away.
Complete Review of AnyRecover
AnyRecover is a multi-purpose data recovery tool that utilises a simple 3-step process that anyone can follow with ease.
There are versions of the software specific to Windows and Mac computers, and a limited free trial is readily available (with limited features too).
Key Features
Most people will want to find out about the main features that this tool has to offer, so we’ll start by focusing on those.
- File formats. In terms of the file types that AnyRecover supports, it doesn’t lack. Any common file formats that you can think of (including TXT, PNG, JPG, PDF, MP3, etc) are supported and can be recovered.
- Recoverable situations. Regardless of how your data has been lost or corrupted, AnyRecover can be used to recover the files in their original condition.
- Supported devices. Most storage devices are supported – HDD, SSD, SD card, and memory sticks. Less common storage devices are likely not supported, but we can’t say for certain.
- Ease of use. We already mentioned that AnyRecover uses a simple 3-step process and that says it all. The user interface makes this an extremely easy process to follow and if you have any issues, there is an online guide to help you out.
- Selective Recovery. An underrated aspect of all data recovery solutions is their selective recovery options, and AnyRecover is no different. Instead of scanning an entire hard drive, you can choose a directory to limit the recovery scan to.
Based on these points alone, AnyRecover has all the features we’d expect from a modern data recovery solution.
While it doesn’t include any features which make it stand out, it definitely doesn’t lack on what’s expected.
Effectiveness
Before we dive into the success rate of AnyRecover, it’s widely accepted that there are no data recovery solutions out there that can get every single file back all the time. There’s no such thing as a 100% success rate.
However, AnyRecover claims to have a success rate of 88% which is almost as close as you can get to that perfect score. This alone is an impressive figure and makes it a worthwhile tool to try.
Performance
Data recovery tools are limited on a lot of factors. Your computer’s hardware is the biggest factor that affects how fast the data can be found, so it usually doesn’t matter what recovery tool you decide to use.
However, one thing that AnyRecover does to counter this issue is providing users with the ability to pause or stop scans midway.
In other words, if your lost files appear, you can stop the scan and recover your data without finishing it.
Price
The pricing model for AnyRecover is in line with what we’ve seen a lot of other data recovery software developers offer.
Naturally, there is a free download available, but you are going to be very limited while using that. You can run the recovery scan but that’s as far as it goes – you can’t complete the recovery unless you purchase a paid plan.
If you decide to pay up, you’ll have 4 options.
- 1-Month Plan. Full access and unlimited recoveries. $49.95 per month.
- 1-Year Plan. Full access and unlimited recoveries. $59.95 per year.
- Lifetime Plan (1 PC). Full access and unlimited recoveries. $79.95 per month.
- Lifetime Plan (5 PCs). Full access and unlimited recoveries. $99.95 per month.
You’ll notice that these plans are all similar in the sense that regardless of which plan you have, you get the exact same access.
The only difference here is the length of time you can use the software for and there aren’t any benefits to getting a more expensive plan.
So, if you only need to use AnyRecover once or twice, the 1-Month Plan would be ideal.
On the other hand, if you find yourself using it frequently, the Lifetime Plan might be the better option. Our main point is that paying more won’t get you access to more features.
Customer Feedback
In any software review we write, we like to consider what the existing customers think about the software.
After all, they’ve already purchased and used it, so they have a great idea of how well it performs.
One of the compliments we’ve seen brought up in the customer reviews several times is the customer support. Many people who need data recovery tools aren’t the most tech-savvy and having great customer support is important for that reason.
The only complaint we’ve seen mentioned a few times was that the user’s data was not successfully recovered, although as we mentioned these tools won’t always be able to get your files back.
Pros
- Among the best basic data recovery tools
- Can be used to recover almost any file
- Customers rate this software very highly
- Has an impressive customer support team
Cons
- The free trial is extremely limited
- The different plans offer no new or additional features
Our Verdict
Overall, we don’t think that anyone will be disappointed with AnyRecover and it is pretty much “what you see is what you get”.
It has clearly been designed for users who don’t consider themselves computer experts and with the vast number of resources they provide users with, AnyRecover couldn’t be any easier to use.
While writing this AnyRecover review, the biggest limitation that we found was the free download.
An alternative to this would be to cap the amount of data that can be recovered by the user so that they at least get a better idea of how the software works, but this is just a minor criticism.

How to Recover Files with StarzSoft Data Recovery
We’re talking this data recovery tool up a lot so naturally, you’ll want to see how it works. Here’s how you can use StarzSoft Data Recovery to retrieve lost data on your computer.
Step #1 – Download and install the StarzSoft Data Recovery software on your computer.

Step #2 – After the installation finishes, launch the program and the main menu will appear.
Step #3 – From this menu, you can select the directory you want to scan for lost files. Either choose one of the drives that have been detected, or click Select Folder and narrow the search down.
Note: if you choose a drive then the scan will take considerably longer. If you have an idea of where the lost file was saved, choose the Select Folder option as this will reduce the scan time by a lot.
Step #4 – Click the Next button and the scan will now begin. You don’t have to sit and watch your computer while the scan is running, however, if you see that your file is found you can stop the scan and recover it.
Step #5 – After the scan is finished, or you have stopped it, use the tree view menu on the left to locate the file (or files) and select it. You can double-click on any file to preview it at this point.
Step #6 – To complete the recovery, simply click on the Recover button at the bottom of the window and choose a folder to save the recovered data to.
Ideally, you should choose a folder that isn’t on the same drive as the files were originally stored to avoid corruption.
We’ve given you all of these detailed steps but by the end of the process, you’ll realise that this only takes a few minutes of your time and is extremely efficient.
Better yet, if the scan results in you finding the lost files before it is complete, you can stop it and recover the files instantly.
Conclusion
Overall, our AnyRecover review has determined that AnyRecover is a great piece of software. It is full of many helpful features and makes data recovery easier than most users would believe.
That being said, it has several flaws which aren’t game-breaking but which are solved by using StarzSoft Data Recovery.
If you wanted you could go ahead and install both of these recovery tools and decide for yourself.
